


Develops financial indicators to monitor progress for review and analysis of financial performance.Develops strategies to achieve goals for cost management and effectiveness.Develops and submits for approval, department operating and capital budgets and ensures that department operates within the fiscal budgetary parameters, reports variances.Ensures that staff meets all educational and responsibility requirements for clinical laboratory testing as defined by federal law.

Ensures the development of the standards of performance, evaluation of performance, and initiates or makes recommendation for personnel action.Selects, trains/orients and assigns department staff (either directly or through subordinates).Establishes, implements and maintains policies and procedures to include quality assurance, safety, environmental, infection control standards to achieve department and organizational goals and maintain compliance with regulatory agencies.Participates in interdepartmental or multi-disciplinary groups to ensure that the department’s services are effectively integrated into the organization’s system for delivering patient care.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Facilitates the coordination and integration of interdepartmental and intra-departmental care and/or services.Coordinates a wide variety of administrative, fiscal, and technical activities to ensure efficient operation of all clinical laboratories.Job Description General Summary of Duties: Organizes, directs, and manages the functions, activities and personnel of the laboratory.
